Summer Cakes

I made these cupcakes for my friends niece, Rian, for her 1st birthday. I made her a smash cake from a mini 3-tier cake form Crate & Barrel. The cake does not come out with the sharpest angles to define each tier, so this icing application turned out the be the easiest! Give yourself enough time to make the pin wheel flower toppers, they took a little longer than planned.

Hydrangea Cakes

There is nothing better than cupcakes & fresh flowers, not to mention, it is a labor free cake topper! I took small stems off of my hydrangea, washed them, and they were perfectly fine all day in the cupcakes.

WE GOT ENGAGED!!!

I was not going to make this a blog about my life, but there are some things that you just must document, and this is one of them! On May 4th 2013 I will be marrying Brian and become Mrs. Amick, and could not be more excited! (Maddie is beside herself if you can't tell).

Lots of wedding planning to do!

A Month of Valentine's

Hearts and all things pink and red should not only be limited to one day. I would like to put multiple mini cookie cutters through jumbo marshmallows for all occasions, I mean how cute!  I am also a sucker for anything that is silk and comes in two-pieces, not to mention IVORY!!!
Above are the cupcakes and cake that I made for that special day and ended up being one of my favorites, guess why?!

Yes... because they are pink and white.
Happy Valentine's Month!

A New Year, A New Cupcake

Gingerbread Toffee Layered Cake

I love gift-wrap and obviously cupcakes, which is why this combination was the perfect little gift for the girls at work. I feel like I am becoming a borderline hoarder with the ribbon, but I just love having access to any color I might need. I think I have every shade or white, cream, and pink! I used a dye cut and monogram gold stickers to personalize each mason jar. For the cupcake, I used this gingerbread recipe. The frosting is a buttercream with toffee flavored coffee creamer added. Each layer is toped with toffee pieces and I couldn't resist putting rainbow sprinkles in too!

Happy New Year!
